Learning From History – Ezekiel 35

Life is about choices and better choices are made because of lessons learned from the past. It’s up to us to know what’s going on around us and to take in what’s good for our mind, body, and soul.

My thoughts today are being made after reading Ezekiel 35. You may want to click on this beautiful piano piece as you read this post: In The Garden: Norm Hastings, Piano . Also at this link is more about Edom.

After reading Ezekiel 35, my thoughts are about how God identifies with Israel. They are His people who were led out of Egypt into a land that was prosperous. Over time, they didn’t pay total attention to Him but God has always shown mercy and been patient with them. Because I have read, heard, and observed what has played out in history, today I believe the universal church is God’s people. He identifies with believers in Christ and I believe He wants what is best for His people.

This day with God will be amazing because there are things we can learn from history that will help in making decisions. The problems we go through in life are not stop signs; they are guidelines and it is during tough times that He provides sure signs of a brighter future. Christ being raised from the dead is a sure sign my friend.

Excellent post Mark! We do have choices. It’s either Jesus are the devil.

    Thanks for sharing. God bless.

  2. “Because I have read, heard, and observed what has played out in history, today I believe the universal church is God’s people.”

A true point that many people miss today concerning the importance of the church.

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.” (1 Peter 2:8-10) This scripture is being spoken towards Christians, the church, the special chosen poeple of God under the New Covenant.

    Have a great night Mark.
