Our Play Book

This week’s message in the six part series called “Game Plan” is titled “Play Book”. The universal church is the spiritual team of God. To keep us on track, the Bible constantly trains the body of Christ. Like our “Play Book”, we can study or practice together and the Holy Spirit helps us apply what the Bible tells us to do. Below is an outline of the message. The words in black are notes provided by the church staff and the notes in blue are notes I added as I listened to the Podcast.

Getting off track.
1 Timothy 4:1-5

It’s so easy to get off track and spend our time in activities that are not significant. We chase after things that we want to do rather than what God wants us to do. Sometimes the answer is simple and believing in the ONE who has all the answers seems too easy.

Train yourself!
1 Timothy 4:6-9

We are each in charge of our own training. We need to take our own responsibility for our walk. We need to keep track of where our time is spent, where our money is spent, and what our thoughts are on.

Two reliable Sources.
1 Timothy 4:11-14

Scripture – The whole body of Christ has the Bible which is our “Play Book” which we can study and practice together

God’s Holy Spirit – The Spirit helps us apply what the Bible tells us

Excel!
1 Timothy 4:15-16

People around us ought to see a difference in our actions.

Feel free to use this outline and message to study or share with others. There is also a Podcast of all sermons at this link. I hope this video inspires your day as we study and practice the “Play Book” together: I Will Follow – Maranatha Singers.

About Mark Shields

Mark volunteers as a member of the media ministry at his church and runs the 10:50 worship service computer. A few years ago, he started an on-line Bible study guide called “This Day with God Devotional”. He uses this as a tool in his journey through the Bible. We live in a very busy world with busy schedules so this tool has helped him continue with daily Bible reading and study. You’re invited to join him on this journey or check in every so often to read his thoughts.
