God's Plan for Us

One summer, in a small group, we decided to do a study on God’s Plan for Us. Below is a summary of our study. One plan is perfect in this world and it is God’s plan for us. We have a gift from God and that gift is His son. God demonstrates His own love for us in this; while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. God’s plan is perfect because He knows the past, present, and future. Christ was the only qualified candidate because He is fully human and fully divine. Christ is our bridge to eternal life.

We are saved by God’s grace. It is a free gift that cannot be earned. Having been saved, we are urged to have prayer, bible study, fellowship, and to do good works. We receive this in His church. Jesus is the head of the church body and we are the different parts that contribute to His work.

We must receive Christ to be saved. Receiving Christ into our heart is an act of faith. When we receive Christ, the Holy Spirit becomes a guide in all decisions. Changes take place when Christ moves into our heart. New priorities, perspectives, and the power of the Holy Spirit enable us to live a life of obedience to God. Christ dwells in our heart and fills it with his precious treasures – His love, His grace, and His compassion.

Many scriptures give evidence of the new relationship and                                                     help those who believe in Jesus Christ to gain assurance that they belong to God. God reveals himself through the historical record, the promise of scripture, and our relationship with Him and other Christians. God is for us because He sent His son to die for our sins.

God offers himself to all; He is a friend to everyone. It is up to us to accept His son. We should put Christ at the center of our lives because He is the way, the truth, and the life.

Have you ever made a commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord? If you have not made this commitment, or if you are not sure, will you make it now? The following can be used as a guide to help you make this commitment:

“Jesus, I now realize you are Lord and that I have never submitted myself totally to Your Lordship. I do now choose for you to be my Lord.”

A daily devotional time using “This Day with God” internalizes His guiding principles; becoming an instrument which pushes one to focus on Him in every activity throughout their day.

Empowerment to Fulfill the Dreams God has Given – This writing has some ideas for giving direction to the dreams God gives you.

Inspiration for Your God Given Purpose – An example is given of the steps taken to start “This Day with God” devotional site. These same steps can be a model that can be modified and used as a tool for your own God given purposes.

See, Believe, and Achieve - What do you remember about a teacher, coach, mentor, parent, grandparent, pastor, or Sunday school teacher etc. that has made a difference in your life? In this writing, I’m remembering a talk from my high school baseball coach.

Determination – Have you ever wanted something with a passion but things are just not working out? Then someone comes along to inspire the extra determination you needed to get back on track. In this writing, are some ideas and examples along with a particular movie scene.

Remembering Wins – To give encouragement, our achievements are a good source. The growing number of achievements will add to the belief in your potential, motivation, and the desire to achieve even more. As you look as your wins over a lifetime, a winning tradition will be established not only in your own life but in those
future generations that you influence.
