Seeking Him with All Our Heart and Soul

There are reforms king Asa undertakes in the spiritual life of his kingdom as written in 2 Chronicles 15. He removed the detestable idols from the whole land of Judah and Benjamin and from the towns he had captured in the hills of Ephraim. He repaired the altar of the Lord that was in front of the portico of the Lord’s temple (v. 8). All the people entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul (v. 12).

It takes courage to change but with assistance and acceptance from God, we can gain confidence. We can offer our praises and be devoted to Him; love Him with all our heart, soul, and mind. In order to endure, focus on Jesus, keep your eyes on the cross, and on the heavenly reward.

This day with God, spend a few minutes in silence, putting away the cares and concerns and noise of the day, listening for the Holy Spirit. We can stay focused on God’s presence. God is not distant but near. Click on the Internet through your laptop or phone and be reminded of this amazing truth throughout your day.

About Mark Shields

Mark volunteers as a member of the media ministry team at his church. A few years ago, he started an on-line Bible study guide called “This Day with God Devotional”. He uses this as a tool in his journey through the Bible. We live in a very busy world with busy schedules so this tool has helped him continue with daily Bible reading and study. Each of the studies are designed to help apply our faith in the work place, at school, or at home. Join him on this journey or check in every so often to read his thoughts.
