Giving all Honor and Praise to God

Reading in Romans 1:18-23 , a take away is that by accepting the Gospel message we receive God’s righteousness. Those who don’t accept Christ are captive to sin; susceptible to the godlessness and wickedness of this world.

Actions like suppressing the truth, not admitting God’s power, and not being thankful prompt God’s wrath. These actions are immature and arrogant. The intellectual and spiritual life are affected negatively so that some go down the path that leads to a life of strife.

Lord, we come to You in prayer today to accept Your power and divine nature. Your invisible qualities can be clearly seen. Sometimes You shout to us in a thunderstorm or paint a beautiful rainbow in the sky. May we all accept this truth and honor You rather than foolishly believe that something man-made has more long-term value and can better meet our needs. Lord … we give honor and praise today. Amen!

About Mark Shields

Mark volunteers as a member of the media ministry team at his church. A few years ago, he started an on-line Bible study guide called “This Day with God Devotional”. He uses this as a tool in his journey through the Bible. We live in a very busy world with busy schedules so this tool has helped him continue with daily Bible reading and study. Each of the studies are designed to help apply our faith in the work place, at school, or at home. Join him on this journey or check in every so often to read his thoughts.
