Treasure Beyond Measure

What brings purpose to your life? Is it to live for God and do what He wants; to understand how things work and to share with others so that their path to understanding is made easier? Is it a desire to have spiritual communion and be strengthened each day? Are the things of God your treasure? Do you ask God for help and dream of the possibilities?

In Acts 17:1-15, Paul found it to be much easier to share about Christ when the listener desired to believe. The lesson is to stimulate interest so one is eager to examine for themselves the priceless principles found in the scriptures. Hopefully, this poem will do just that.

Step Ahead

Living for His glory
Is so very fulfilling
Stimulating interest
In what is thrilling.

Where the path to insight
Is there for many
Leading to the way
Of a life with plenty.

Asking God for help,
Dreaming each day
Of what is possible
When following His way.

Spiritual communion
Strengthened beyond measure
Since the things of God
Are our treasure.

A life of purpose,
Living for His Glory,
Doing what He wants,
This is our story.

About Mark Shields

Mark volunteers as a member of the media ministry team at his church. A few years ago, he started an on-line Bible study guide called “This Day with God Devotional”. He uses this as a tool in his journey through the Bible. We live in a very busy world with busy schedules so this tool has helped him continue with daily Bible reading and study. Each of the studies are designed to help apply our faith in the work place, at school, or at home. Join him on this journey or check in every so often to read his thoughts.
